As next Tuesday’s election approaches, a number of ballot measure races in Oregon look like they’re going to be very close.
 One of the more contested initiatives, Measure 92, would require labeling of foods with genetically engineered ingredients.
It’s gotten added media attention because of large financial contributions from chemical and agricultural corporations, making it the most expensive initiative campaign in Oregon history. 9:39 minutes (13.25 MB)

The Portland Mercury, along with the Willamette Week and the Oregonian, took a position against Measure 92, the ballot measure which would require labeling of genetically modified foods.  On Monday, Oct. 27, KBOO's Paul Roland spoke with Dennis Theriault, News Editor of the Portland Mercury about his paper's position, as well as Julia Degraw, of Oregon Right to Know and Food and Water Watch.
