Aja DeCoteau: Tribes and Treaty Rights in the Columbia River Basin

As part of the Oregon High Desert Association's High Desert Speaker Series, Aja Decoteau, a citizen of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakima Nation, spoke on the history of tribes, treaties, and fisheries in the Columbia River basin. KBOO's Jenka Soderberg and Emily Gresham Beamer were there, and are excited to share with KBOO listeners Decoteau's captivating speech, which covered a wide range of issues, from climate change to the repercussions of river damming in the north west. Decoteau serves as Watershed Department Manager for the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission in Portland, Oregon.
