Please be advised that, while we are always open to receiving program proposals, we have few-to-no on air slots open at any given time. Proposals will be reviewed by the Program Director, Program Staff, and/or the Program Advisory Committee. Approved Proposals will be kept on file by the Program Director.

Program proposals submitted by people who are not in the process of becoming KBOO volunteers will be expected to work with the Volunteer Coordinator and Program Staff to get the necessary trainings. Click here for more info on getting started as a volunteer.

Describe your proposed program. If accepted as a broadcast show or podcast, this will be the description that is used on the website.
Why should KBOO air this program? What needs and what community will it serve? How is it different from programming elsewhere? Does it conform with the KBOO Programming Charter?
What does diversity equity and inclusion look like for this program (what sort of diversity of artists or hosts or producers will be involved in creating this program? In the program content?)?
How will your program be produced? live on the air? Preproduced and edited, and played as a final show? What will you need to produce this show? Recorded at home? Recorded at KBOO? What resources will you need from KBOO to produce the show?
Who will be involved in producing this program? Please list names, contact information, their training status at KBOO and experience and skills they are contributing.
To host a show, you must have volunteer orientation and signed a volunteer contract, and a programmer contract. There are also more training classes before being on the air or hosting a podcast. What KBOO Training Classes have you taken? What classes do you plan to take? If you have not trained at KBOO, have you been trained at other radio stations? What was that training like?
Do you have a log in to Volgistics? Do you have a log in to the KBOO website? Have you signed a Volunteers Contract? Have you signed a Programmers Contract?
How will you let people know that you have this show? What is your plan for interacting with your audience? What social media platforms do you use? Are you friends with KBOO on facebook/instagram/twitter?
Who will be responsible for submitting Program Episodes, Program Descriptions, and other materials so KBOO can help promote your program? Who will be responsible for on-air promotional spots? Who will be responsible for promoting your show on social media, and what social media will you use?
As a program host, you have Membership Drive volunteer requirements, and other off-air duties. Have you participated in membership drives before? Do you need Pitching training?
