At 11 it’s Democracy Now - A special unedited Membership Drive Edition At 12:30 we’ll hear Naomi Klein’s Portland speech on The Shock Doctrine, and later Antonia Juhasz and Rev Lennox Yearwood speak on Direct Action for Social Change, And we’ll hear a powerful speech by the late Vernon Bellecourt on “Thanksgiving, Redskins and American Genocide.” Then it’s on to the subject of political prisoners in the U.S. – with a spotlight on the Angola 3, followed by analysis of the latest ruling in the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal. We’ll also hear from the victim of an embassy bombing in Tanzania, on why she prefers civilian trials to the Guantanamo Tribunals for the men charged with murdering her husband. We’ll hear about local empowerment for change with Kayse Jama of the Center for Intercultural Organizing, and the politics of Food with the owners of Proper Eats Café.
