I spoke with three dancers at the Portland Project at Performance Works Northwest, an umbrella organization for some of the most skillfull dancers in Portland. Linda Austin started this venue ten years ago. She's joined on today's Stage and Studio with Anne Furfey and Terry Mathern to talk about this weekend's collaborative dance show.
And in the second part of the show, I talk with Novelist Lisa See about her new historical novel set in China in 1937, "Shanghai Girls." It's such a thrill to read this well-researched story of two sisters escaping the Japanese invasion to face detention at Angel Island Immigration Station. Lisa See talks about this history as well as what China City, a Disneyland version of Chinatown was like in Los Angeles.
Hope you can check it out and the Facebook page for Stage and Studio.
