This episode of The Talking Earth features Portland writers Carlos Reyes, Igor Brezhnev and Allison Cobb, hosted by dan raphael, who will read one of his own poems and one by James Yeary. The show can be heard anytime after the broadcast as KBOO.fm.
Longtime Portland resident Carlos Reyes is a poet, teacher, Volkswagen mechanic and world traveler. He has had writing residencies in the United States, Ireland, France and India. He’s reading tonight from his most recent book, Lament for us all. Other titles include Two People in the Night by a River, Flaggy Shore: Poems from West Clare, and the forthcoming Wrestling the Mistral and Osage Elegy. Igor Brezhnev is a poet and a book designer, among his other sins. He has two full length collections of poetry published by Liquid Gravity Publishing, 'dearest void' (2016) and 'america is a dry cookie and other love stories' (2018). Igor was also the founder and curator of Wordlights, a weekly poetry reading series in Portland, Oregon, and founded Lightship Press, a small press focused on poetry. He currently curates a semi-regular poetry interview column "The Poetry Closet" for NAILED Magazine.
Igor is reading from nights since, a series of 363 poems written every night from January 18th, 2019 to January 14th, 2020
