Kentucky Falls Trail in the Central Coast Range of Oregon paved the way for a number of the coast range trails we enjoy today, but did you know it was a trail that almost didn't happen?

Learn the incredible history of one of the Siuslaw National Forest's most important trails and how one ranger stood up to prevent a clear cut from destroying an area that was used and loved by locals long before it was an official USFS trail. Land deals, dynamite, freaked out mules, and more make this a show you won't want to miss.

Kentucky Falls Trail designer Mark Buehrig and retired educator Jim Grano share the "at times unbelievable" history behind the building of Kentucky Falls Trail, a premier trail that opened the door for many more beautiful Coast Range trails, including P.A.W.N. and Sweet Creek.

This is part one of a two-part show.
