Bill Resnick interviews John Bellamy Foster. They discuss the future as the world continuously warms, wreaking havoc with vast destructive storms, spiraling food prices, whole populations desperately fleeing, and more. At some point people around the world will awake and demand a total mobilization of all earth’s resources to stop capitalism’s death march. John and Bill conclude discussing what must be done, and we can do it, having all the necessary resources and technologies to succeed. Another better, sustainable and democratic world is necessary and possible. Foster teaches Sociology at the University of Oregon. He's chief editor of the journal Monthly Review. His books include The Ecological Rift, Capitalism's War On the Earth and the Ecological Revolution, Making Peace with the Planet. You can listen to part 1 of this interview at https://kboo.fm/media/115297-civilization-and-its-future.
