Interview with James Hollis

James Hollis, Ph. D., was a teacher of Humanities for 26 years in various colleges and universities before retraining as a Jungian analyst at the Jung Institute of Zurich, Switzerland. He is a licensed Jungian analyst who has spent many years in private practice .

Dr. Hollis served as Executive Director of the Jung Educational Center in Houston, Texas for many years, and was the Executive Director of the Jung Society of Washington until 2019, and now serves on the Board of Directors. He was the first Director of Training of the Philadelphia Jung Institute, and is Vice-President Emeritus of the Philemon Foundation. Additionally he is a Professor of Jungian Studies for Saybrook University of San Francisco/Houston.

James has written eighteen books which are translated into over 20 languages. These include such titles as What Matters MostHauntings: Dispelling the Ghosts Who Run Our LivesTracking the Gods: The Place of Myth in Modern Life, and Swamplands of the Soul: New Life in Dismal Places. The two books that are the subject of today's program are Finding Meaning in the Second Half of Life and the book: Why Good People Do Bad Things: Understanding Our Darker Selves
