A Path Forward from 50 Years of Mass Incarceration

On this edition of Prison Pipeline: Beyond Bars: A Path Forward from 50 Years of Mass Incarceration.

A new book has just been released entitled Beyond Bars: A Path Forward from 50 Years of Mass Incarceration in the United States. Featuring contributions from The Sentencing Project, The Society for the Study of Social Problems, and other leading experts, this book tackles the failed mass incarceration regime and offers realistic alternatives. It's part of a Sentencing Project campaign called 50 Years and a Wake Up: Ending The Mass Incarceration Crisis In America. To learn more, we’re joined in conversation by Ashley Nellis, Ph.D., Co-Director of Research at The Sentencing Project and one of the contributing authors, and Kristen Budd, Ph.D., Research Analyst at The Sentencing Project and one of the book’s editors.
