Amanda Bullock, Portland Book Festival Director

As the temperatures drop here in Portland, the leaves turn color, and the rain starts falling, it’s a sure sign Autumn has arrived. A good time to pause the social media doom scrolling and sit down with a few books you’ve been wanting to read. It’s also a sure sign the Portland Book Festival is right around the corner. Starting back in 2005, the festival formerly known as Wordstock, has grown into the biggest literary event in the Northwest and one of the largest in the country. It takes place this year on Saturday, November 4th, from 10am to 6pm, centered as usual in and around the Portland Art Museum.

The festival features a wide range of events for all age groups, including discussions and pop-up readings with over 100 local and national authors, a kids’ story time, writing workshops, an Exhibitor Fair, food trucks, and Cover to Cover events at Portland venues spanning the entire week.

So much going on at the Portland Book Festival! And there’s no one better to preview it all with us than Festival Director, Amanda Bullock, who also serves as Senior Artistic Director at Literary Arts in Portland. Amanda’s been our guest going back to the BC, or Before Covid, days and I look forward every year to spending this time with her.
