The US Senate Committee on Aging held a hearing recently entitled “Understanding a Growing Crisis: Substance Use Trends Among Older Adults.” We hear from one of the witnesses, William Stauffer, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Recovery Organization Alliance. Plus, the European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control held a launch event recently to announce the release of a new guidance report that explores good public health practices to support effective policies to reduce blood-borne infections such as HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. We hear from one of the speakers, Mat Southwell, Project Executive with the European Network of People who Use Drugs.
