Tonight's edition of Talking Earth will feature the poems of Dante Graham-Preston, Drew Slum and Marcus Lattimore. Host Patrick Bocarde has known Drew for decades since the open mic glory years of the early aughts. Patrick caught up with Drew for a little bit in late August, with all three sending in poems to air for this show.

Marcus Lattimore is a spoken word artist, poet and former athlete. He co-owns ZEN:MNM — a creative wellness business with his wife, Miranda — where they offer mindfulness, nature and movement-based workshops. Marcus moved to Portland in 2020, diving into poetry with his vintage typewriter. Since then, he has performed in local theatres as well as winning Slamlandia’s 2024 Grand Slam, and represented Oregon at the BlackBerry Peach Poetry Slam in Georgia this past June.
Dante Graham-Preston is a community organizer, poet and a member of the Ol'dominion hip-hop collective, and a former event organizer at Open Signal: Portland Community Media Center.
Patrick Bocarde will also read Milan Kundera's opinionated definition of the word 'interview', as well possibly some poems.
