Last chance for dormant pruning. First chance for indoor seed starting. Legislative update on farm land.

Host Glen Andresen and co-pilot Jim Gilbert are back in the KBOO studio for a live February show. If you haven't already done it, this is your last chance for dormant pruning. But what exactly does dormant mean? Plus, yep, you can grow citris in Portland and western Oregon, but it really has to be in (large, movable) containers. And for us vegetable-growing diehards, it's time to start the indoor seed-starting process. Finally, an update on the legislative measures that could take more farm land and change land uses on farms.

As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (lettuce) and a new Garden Stumper--the first listener who calls in with the correct answer gets a free sharpening of a gardening hand tool from Cully Farm Store in Northeast Portland. Our musical theme this month is "Super: from bowl to bloom." Plus, our Dirtbag Dictionary term is "dormant." And finally, what Glen is trying to understand this month.

Don't forget, if you have a gardening question, and don't want to call in, you can always email us at thedirtbag@kboo.org -- we'll answer your question on the air during the next show. And, surprise, this is the same email to use to answer The Garden Stumper if you don't want to call in.

The Dirtbag, a garden variety show... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
