A podcast featuring audio drama, dark comedy, & other unexpected vignettes from Corvallis & beyond.
This is episode 16 of the Spirit of the Forest, an audio drama / dark comedy produced by Oregon resident Dan Crall.  Each episode, in its own way, reflects upon the sadness, the absurdity, and normalcy of modern life.

On this edition, we open with a report on the tragic death of world famous family band, The Cans.  We follow with a visit to a pond in the forest, covered in algae and cottonwood seeds, under an intense sun.  The episode continues to a laundromat in Corvallis, where we meet a strange drifter by the name of Obie, who performs his obtuse brand of acoustic punk/black metal.  Moving along, we consider a lot of the strange noises coming from the sky around the planet, plus we listen in on NASA-recorded sounds of the planets as contemplate the end of the world, or what many assume to be.  As we draw to a close, we hear a confrontation of off-key street musicians, followed by words of wisdom(?) from noted evangelist Pat Robertson regarding anal sex, polyamory, bestiality and other things on his mind.

Special thanks goes out to John Knight, Dan Crall, Trevor Heald, John Crall, Obie (last name unknown), The Cans (Courtney, Adam, Nicole Hughes), various rioters and mourners, Tracy Pastor T. Washington, Pat Robertson, and a number of voices from various videos on youtube relating to strange sounds in the sky.  A special acknowledgement goes out to NASA, Rasion d'etre, the Lube City Ramblers, Alex Johnson, and Matt Kellam for their musical/sonic contributions to this episode of The Spirit of the Forest.
