Nael Saker, works with the Arab American Cultural Center of Oregon, and was born in Gaza. While he has lived in Oregon for eighteen years, and is now an American citizen, Mr. Saker has four sisters and a brother currently living in Gaza.

There is an international outcry against this violence that has killed over 1,000 Palestinians, so far; of those killed, it's estimated that 1/3 are children.

The UN building that housed its main humanitarian aid supplies was shelled yesterday, as was a building used by media, and a hospital. 

Today's Democracy Now! reports that the UN accuses Israeli forces of using white phosphorous in the attacks.  White phosphorous, when used as a weapon, is a war crime.  It burns, and doesn't stop.
