Police Stops in Oregon and Racial Profiling
The studies are in and the reports have been issued. The Police and the Justice system in Oregon target and lock up a disproportianate percentage people of color. Even more to the point they shoot men of color at far higher rates than white men behaving similarly. "Pretext Stops" are often the tool used to begin a confrontation with a targeted individual.What can be done to stop this form of institutional racism?
