This week's event will be in Peninsula Park, North/East Portland! 5.7.13 8-10pm
IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST SILENT DANCE PARTY, PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION BELOW! YOU NEED A RADIO!

"And the people who were dancing were thought to be crazy by those who could not hear the music."

With every person tuned into KBOO on a personal FM radio, we can create a mobile, infinitely expandable dance party that is entirely silent to the outside world.

We can transform parks and public spaces into flashmob celebrations, without the need for expensive sound equipment, and without disturbing our neighbors!

These will be free public events, however...

YOU JUST NEED A PORTABLE FM RADIO WITH HEADPHONES!

Here are some ideas for finding a radio:

-Go to go will or the bins. If you go to the bins they'll only charge you by the pound, so if there are multiples PLEASE grab extras and share!

-We will have 20 pairs of headphones that you can use, on a first come-first served basis. These are offered to anyone who asks, no one will be turned away, HOWEVER, when you return them we will ask you for a zero to one million dollar donation, and you can pay what you think the experience was worth. Think of it as a sliding scale rental.

Each week during these flash dance parties, we will take a few minutes to feature a different community project, with an emphasis on projects that are open-source, easily replicable, positive, and fun.
