Out Loud kicks off Pride month by welcoming our first guest Rob Cochran, from NOFEAR, Northern Oregonians for Equality and Respect, to the show. NOFEAR works to promote Oregon’s anti-discrimination laws that apply to businesses in the state. Recently, two bakeries refused to create a wedding cake for a same gender couple.
Next we welcome Mike Binks, counselor and therapist, and Gina Senarighi, a life coach, counselor and consultant, to the show. With Pride season full of adoration and awesomeness, as well as stress and indulgence, Mike and Gina share tips on sustaining those Pride-full feelings year round. We’ll also discuss some healthy choices and self-care tips for getting though the intensity of the season.
In the second half of our show, we welcome Belinda Carroll, from Pride NW, to share some of the highlights of the upcoming fun in Portland. One of the featured acts of Pride, comedian Ant joins the conversation later in the show.
Look for KBOO and Out Loud in Portland’s Pride parade on Sunday June 16th. We’ll also be at the Pride NW festival area! Find us and say ‘Hello!’
