One teacher is using the power of audio storytelling to encourage courageous conversations around race with her students.
Barb Stonecypher has been an educator since 1995. She has been concentrating on equity and on understanding what equity means in her life while trying to apply it in her classroom. She says: “The success of my students have been the focus of my whole career.” Barb invited me to her classroom to teach audio storytellling to her students so they could record and edit their own story around race, racism and racial discrimination. This Friday, we will play the audio pieces produced by Barb's students and she will be live, in the studio, to discuss her dedication to equity.
