David F. Walker, Filmmaker, writer and culture critic

Join Dmae Roberts and guest speaker David F. Walker, a filmmaker, writer and culture critic and a leading expert in 70s blaxploitation films. Walker talked with students at MHCC's Integrated Media non-fiction filmmaking class and captivated the students discussing the lack of color and racial diversity in most media today. Hear his funny and insightful talk taped June 4, 2013. (Airs 11am Tues 8/27 on KBOO 90.7FM)

David F. Walker is best known as the creator of the pop culture magazine BadAzz MoFo.   Check out his list of the White One Hundred films that star only white people at this site: BadAzzMoFo.com

Walker's first major film documentary is Macked, Hammered, Slaughtered and Shafted which featured actors from blaxploitation films. His knowledge of blaxploitation films has established him as a leading expert in black cinema of the 1970s, leading to appearances on E! True Legends of Hollywood, AMC's Hell Up in Hollywood, and VH1's Race-o-rama.

Walker is the co-author of the book Reflections on Blaxploitation. Walker has also worked as a film critic, and he was creative director for the Longbaugh Film Festival in Portland, Oregon.
