The musical backdrop that spawned the legendary band Blues Hammer
Although they were never as commercially succesful as their counterparts the Beatles and Rolling Stones, Blues Hammer were on the cutting edge of British bands who redefined the Blues. The power trio of Ian Snow, Simon Milk and Nigel White introduced Mississippi delta blues to a new generation of listeners. The influence of classic songs such as "The Cotton Fields of Surrey" and "Sweet Home Berwick-upon-Tweed" can still be heard in your local supermarket today. Please tune in for part one of this tribute as we explore the the artists who influenced their sound. We will hear from LaVerne Baker, Jimmy Reed, Clfiton Chenier and a host of others.
