Transpositive PDX is a new program exploring the vibrant activism going on in Portland reflecting the Transgender, Two Spirit, Non Binary and Gender Non-Conforming Community

You are invited to join us on Transpositive PDX this Tuesday, May 3rd at 6pm on KBOO Community Radio 90.7 FM as we talk to Kate Bornstein , author of Queer and Pleasant Danger and Gender Outlaw. Bornstein is a playwright, author, performance artist and gender theorist who is well known nationally as a spokesperson for the trans community.

We will also be joined by North Carolina activist Janice Covington Alison to talk about the bathroom bills, recent hate legislation which has become law in North Carolina. Janice is working to advocate and educate politicians and people about the transgender community.
 
Host Rowan Gavin Everard will discuss bathroom bills around the country, state by state and their common origin and Nicolette Sandra James will share a segment about nonbinary genders. Emma Lugo will air an interview with Trans artist Catherine Graffam and curator Sheila Goloborotko and we will also be joined by co-hosts Maria Ward, Natasha Delepine.
 
We will also be discusssing trans issues in the news including the the influx of hate legislation in the US where nine states have introduced 14 anti-trans bills in the works and the recent Oregonian article about how the Oregon Health Plan's promise to aid low-income transgender people has come up short.

Transpositive PDX connects listeners with the ongoing activist, arts, culture, and dialogue happening in Portland and beyond. Transpositive PDX is especially concerned about the underrepresented voices of Trans People of Color, Homeless Youth, and the most vulnerable in our communities. Make your voice heard!
