Host Michelle Schroeder Fletcher speaks with Jana Bitton, the executive director of the Oregon Center for Nursing, and co-lead of the Oregon Action Coalition. She also speaks with Christopher Wallace, the current president of the Oregon Student Nurses Association, which works closely with the Oregon Nurses Association and the Oregon Center for Nursing. He also sits on the steering committee of the Oregon Action Coalition. They will discuss the mission of the Coalition, how it affects the
medical field, and ultimately how it affects the good health of our communities.
Under the Oregon Center for Nursing umbrella the Coalition recently won a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to promote the field of nursing and, in particular, nursing leadership based on the recommendations of the Institute
of Medicines report from 2010.
