Portland Author Caroline Miller on her Novel "Ballet Noir"

Stage and Studio is off today.

Instead Don Merrill interviews Portland writer Caroline Miller about her new novel, "Ballet Noir," the story of a prima ballerina pursued by love, death and the paranormal during a whirlwind tour of Europe. Caroline Miller is the author of three novels, a dozen short stories, one radio play, and a theater drama. She writes the blog "Write/Away" on her website booksbycarolinemiller.com.

And later this half-hour we hear an excerpt from Art Express Radio featuring an interview with African-British actor and performer Tayo Aluko, who talks about the worldwide tour of "Call Mr. Robeson: A Life With Songs," his passionate and illuminating labor of love solo show dedicated to the life, legacy, political persecution and art of the late actor and activist Paul Robeson. It is scheduled to return for theatrical performances here in the US in September.
