Health and Health Care Forum, produced by Roberta Hall
On October 10th and 11th the 72nd conference of the Oregon Public Health Association met. On today's Health and Health Care Forum program we present excerpts from those two days of presentations and discussions, including conversations with several participants. Emily York represents the climate and health component of Oregon public health and discusses the keynoter George Luber, who is Chief of the climate and health program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; new deans in public health: David Bangsberg at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, and Javier Nieto of the OSU College of Public Health and Human Services; Jen Coleman of the Oregon Environmental Council; Brian Johnson of Lane County Public Health, Helen Bellanca of Health Share, and Nancy Sullivan and Chris Tanner, who work on engaging nurses in working for universal health care. These are only several samples of a very rich program that 450 people, involved in Oregon public health, discussed this past week.
