Host Ken Jones talks with Meg Kearney, author of the new book When You Never Said Goodbye, a novel in poems and journal entries. When You Never Said Goodbye is the final book in a trilogy following the teen years of Lizzie McLane, an adopted daughter searching for her birth mother. The first two books, also novels in verse, are The Secret of Me, published in 2005, and The Girl in the Mirror from 2012.
Meg’s work includes two books of poetry for adults -- An Unkindness of Ravens and Home By Now -- and Trouper, a picture book for young readers, illustrated by E.B. Lewis.
Meg is Founding Director of the Solstice Low-Residency Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Before joining Pine Manor, she was Associate Director of the National Book Foundation, which sponsors the National Book Awards. She also taught poetry at the New School University in New York City.
