Lefty once said, "When I sing a song I want to make it sound it like the last thing I ever say in my life." 

William "Lefty" Frizzell was born Corsicana Texas. His father was an oil driller and the family travelled the oil fields of the Southwest chasing work. Of his varied background Lefty says, "I guess it accounts for the pronounciation of certain words that've become my hallmark. Folks seem to get a kick out of my talkin' about someone being day-yays lay-yate." As for the nickname, "Lefty," it comes from his technique during his boxing days. Tune in KBOO.fm or 90.7 fm Saturday morning and listen to listen to his way with a Country song, a way that made him "one and only."
