It may be January, but there are signs of spring: buds swelling. Plus it's time to get serious about dormant pruning, collecting scion wood, and procuring rootstock.

Host Glen Andresen and guest Jim Gilbert know it's January - but there are sure signs of spring. We'll talk about what buds are about to break this month. Plus, time to order seeds, prune fruit trees, and collect scion wood and procure rootstock. What's scion wood and rootstock? Tune in!

As always, we'll have a new Plant of the Month (Asian and European pears); a new Garden Stumper; and define our Dirtbag Dictionary word, "glabrous" (we still haven't defined it after four months…). And, if we have time, what's annoying Glen this month.

The Dirtbag... Listen. Laugh. Learn.
