Climate Defense

Jan Haaken talks with Alice Cherry in this month's Left and the Law segment. Cherry is staff attorney at the Climate Defense Project in Berkeley, and she and Jan discuss legal tactics, civil disobedience, and the climate movement, including several upcoming trials of activists using the necessity defense, and the recent ruling in Juliana v. United States--the civil case filed by youth suing the government for depriving them of a livable future.
