Four years after the Dakota Access Pipeline struggle burst on the scene in North Dakota, another major fight over indigenous sovereignty has broken out in South Dakota, with Trump-supporting Governor Kristi Noem threatening legal action against the Cheyenne River and Pine Ridge Oglala Sioux tribes over their checkpoints on highways going through their reservations. Yankton Sioux and Dine' (Navajo) writer, activist, and second Wednesday Talk Radio co-host Jacqueline Keeler joins regular host Paul Roland to discuss the situation.
Keeler has both an on-line magazine and podcast called Pollen Nation, which can be found here. The podcast "airs" Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:30 PDT. She has covered the Covid-19 pandemic in Indian Country extensively, along with many other topics.
