On July 27, Governor Kate Brown signed Oregon's 100 percent clean energy bill into law. This law requires Oregon energy companies to provide their customers with 100 percent clean electricity by 2040, an ambitious deadline matched only by the state of New York. This comes as one of several bills passed during Oregon's 2021 legislative session, that achieve climate and social justice goals that have eluded previous legislative sessions.
On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with Oregon State Representative Khanh Pham, who played a leading role in shepherding this progressive legislation through the Oregon House.
Khanh Pham is a a long-time community advocate and social justice activist, who was elected in 2020 as State Representative for House District 46, representing Northeast and Southeast Portland, including the Jade District, Montavilla, Mt Tabor, Foster-Powell, Lents, and Laurelhurst neighborhoods.
