An exploration of Hardcore Punk in all it's subgenre glory 1991 - 2021
For OFK #10, I'm joined by my friend and occasional musical collaborator Adam Walker as we explore the much maligned/celebrated genre of Hardcore in all it's ever-changing forms over the past 30 years, with a heavy emphasis on the 90's and early-mid 00's. We purposely left out the 80's pioneering years of the style, as crucial as it is, as it's extremely in vogue and talked about right now while much of what came afterwards is somewhat overlooked or forgotten. D-beat, metallic HC, power-violence, early "screamo," rock n roll-influenced HC and perhaps most importantly, just straight up HARDCORE PUNK - it's all on deck.
