Salute to Dr. Matin Luther King. Rebroadcast of a CBTU President Terry Melvin interview conducted on the Americas’ Workforce Podcast with host Ed “Flash” Ferenc.

Join hosts Dr. Audrey Terrell, Deborah Hall, and Tina Turner-Morfitt of the Oregon Coalition of Black Trade Unionists in our monthly Labor Radio segment for a salute to Black History Month. Tonight is a special night whereby we are reminded of the good works of Dr. Martin Luther King. We are rebroadcasting an interview with CBTU President Terry Melvin. The interview was conducted by the host of America’s Workforce Radio Podcast. President Melvin reminds us that Dr. King was a catalyst during the Civil Rights struggle and transferred elements of his Poor People’s Campaign focusing his energy and attention to the plight of 1,300 striking sanitation workers, members of AFSCME Local 1733 in Memphis TN.  Brother Melvin shares with listeners the indelible influence Dr. King had on him at age 7 provided him with a pathway to foster his own passion to seek out economic and political justice for Black workers and the Black community.  For more information about our CBTU Black History Month and the zoom link check out our Facebook page at ORCBTU.
