Broadcasting with gratitude, sorrow, and love
from the rightful lands of Cowlitz, Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Tumwater, Tualatin Kalapuya, Wasco, Molalla, Ita'xluit, Watlala, and other original peoples of the big river
On this episode of Oh Gee Pee Oh Gee we’re looking back at the past year while Jeremy keeps you company with a variety of perspectives and two hours of good music
Join us to hear tracks from Portland artists
Esperanza Spalding, The Prids, Terri & The Hoods, Vursatyl, Rhys, Ann Annie, Hayley Lynn, JOSEPH, and Timothy Gaines.
We'll also wish Timothy a happy birthday as well as celebrating the births of Amber Arcade’s Annelotte de Graaff, and sound innovator Stan Kenton
East will meet West with the Silk Road Ensemble and all will meet North when we hear Andrew Morris and Terry Uyarak singing in Inuit. Then Okanagan artist Francis Baptiste will teach us the Nsyilxcn word for Brown-Eyes.
En espanol we have a collab from Cachorro López, Julieta Vegas, y Trueno and a beautiful, dynamic new one from Lulú Bulos
Et en francaise we begin with Fuso then add a new one from Thomas Dutronc. Later we hear a classic from Thomas' amazing mother, Françoise Hardy, who sadly passed away this year.
As did a good man, Kris Kristofferson, Nashville legend Duane Eddy, and Gadfly Mojo Nixon
We'll also honor our late, teach-em-to-create neighbor and polymath Eunice Parsons who sadly completed life November 16th, 2024. In her one hundred and eight years at the command of flesh and bone she taught a heaven's worth of stars and left behind a positive, enduring legacy.
