Interview with Amanda Lollar, Founder and President, Bat World Sacturary

Are you curious about bats? You've come to the right place! Amanda Lollar, Founder and President of Bat World Sanctuary, shares with "That Vegan Show" the importance, intelligence, and unique abilities of bats from her vast experience of rescuing and caring for bats. Bat World Sanctuary, the largest bat sanctuary on Earth, is a non-profit, accredited sanctuary providing rescue for bats worldwide. Bat World Sanctuary is on the front line to end the mistreatment of bats. Each year they rescue hundreds of bats who might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, and rescued from the exotic pet trade, zoos and research facilities. They are also involved in conservation efforts both locally and internationally. Bat World was founded in 1994 and is a 501c3 non-profit, accredited organization with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries.

Amanda is an author of both scientific and popular literature about bats, including her most recent work, The Rehabilitation and Captive Care of Insectivorous Bats. Amanda is a licensed bat care specialist in the State of Texas, permitted to work with threatened and endangered species. Growing up she had the unique existence of bouncing between the life of an army brat and a farm girl, and -starting with a crippled chicken- began rescuing animals at around age twelve.
