The Bike Show tackles how to get teens cycling and visits with young adults who inspire riding.
This month the KBOO Bike Show explores the less-traveled path of teen cycling. Often, when kids hit middle and high-school they tend to shy away from cycling-- and towards the right of passage of the driver's license. We'll be welcoming three organizations and their members that are reaching out to teen cyclists-- particularly low-income and minority-- to get them hooked into the wonder and sport of cycling. The Bike Show welcomes back the Oregon Bicycle Racing Association's High School Cyclocross Program, the newly formed Major Taylor Educational Program (both of Portland) and ElGroupo (of Tucson). We'll discuss their different programs and hear directly from the participants what they think might get more young adults on bikes.
