“Building An Ark” Tour // U.S. Press Release

August & September // 2011

Groundation have established themselves as leaders in the ongoing American Reggae movement. Though their international success seemingly knows no bounds, headlining massive festivals from Morocco to Belgium, the States have been once again slower to catch on to this homegrown musical phenomena. That is all set to change with the forthcoming full length-studio album “Building An Ark,” which sees the band crystallizing their singular blend of Dub, Funk, Jazz & Roots Reggae into an even more ethereal sound.

The US segment of the “Building An Ark” 2011 World Tour sees Groundation playing the pre-eminent venues across the Western half of the United States: including Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Colorado and multiple night runs at The Belly Up Tavern (Solana Beach) & The Great American Music Hall (San Francisco)––plus a very special Marcus Garvey Birthday concert, featuring numerous special guests, that will be kicking off the tour at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA.

Additionally, the “Building An Ark” tour serves as both an announcement for the new full-length studio album, as well as a promotional vehicle for two other releases from the Groundation camp: lead singer Harrison “Professor” Stafford’s debut solo venture, “Madness” and Groundation’s first-ever compilation album “Gathering of the Elders”---both of which hit stores this summer (videos below).

Groundation's high-energy live shows have become the stuff of legend––featuring nightly rotating set-lists and extended intricate improvisations, it is no wonder that they have developed the traveling jam-band-type cult following that has been previously unheard of in the Reggae world. Their performances simply must be seen to be believed.

Groundation is the biggest, most respected American Reggae band touring the world today––come and find out why.
