FUSION: DREAMS

Friday, March 1st, 8:00 pm

PDX Fusion creates events that celebrate different modalities of expression and community-building. We bring together the finest in Portland’s art, music, science and performance nexuses to create a truly memorable night themed around “Dreams”.

Fusion:Dreams will begin the night with a lecture by Jiro Isetani, MACFOC and Elva Redwood, Dipl. PW, MAPW titled “The Art of Dreaming”. This presentation will explain the theory and the practice of Process Work Dreaming Awareness and will include visual representations of dream theory, demonstrate practical work in our relationships, as well as give the audience a brief opportunity to explore inner work.

Birds of Paradise will headline the musical portion of the night. Their fusion of elements, both natural and synthetic, create an engaging bio-digital landscape that leaves little to the imagination. Device Grips will begin the music for the night. This group, by seamlessly combining the ethereal elements of sultry blues, conscious hip-hop, groovy funk and grimey EDM, will conjure up an alchemical energy that will destroy the dance floor. IG88 will play next. This music is both tangible and soulful, raw and quick, something like the full breath of a thunderhead, the shards of sparks following a blunt and sonic hit to the nail on the head. The night will close with a set by Subaqueous, a producer who will use the kinect to create a sound-submersion that paints complex crystalline caverns in the mind.

Fusion:Dreams also features performance-based expression and interactive and visual art throughout the night

A portion of proceeds from this event will be donated to KBOO. This event is 21 +. Tickets are $11 presale or $16 at the door. For more information on Fusion:Dreams please reference http://www.facebook.com/events/127512707423658/
