I note the return to service for the Corvallis-Albany region. The signal seems weaker, with much static. I have a rather good FM receiver with external dipole antenna--external to the radio unit; the landlord forbids external building antennas.
Prior to the failure, the signal was quite adequate once I found the antenna's sweet spot. Now no such spot found, even after much repositioning.
My car radio reception is hopeless, what with that commercial pop station in Corvallis whose signal erratically/randomly cancels KBOO's. A catastrophe. The signal was never great, but the radio would satisfactorily lock on to KBOO. That's now down the chute.
I hope that the engineers will continue to work on the translator, to improve the signal strength, or focus, or whatever it takes.
As an economic refugee forced to emigrate, my mental survival in a retarded town like Albany OR depends greatly on my ability to receive KBOO. If I could afford to live in Portland, I'd be there now.
Then, if I could afford Portland, I'd probably go home to San Francisco & resume my KPFA membership. Yes, I can live-stream these stations online, but I'm old school & want simply to switch on my radio.
Any hope of that? Keep trying. Thanks for your efforts so far.

My guess is signal has been restored and in the process of being made stronger. The weak signal is probably temporary. Thanks for being patient, it is actively being addressed from Erin's post.

If you have internet, streaming may be an alternative for the time being. www.kboo.fm, oh wait, if you're reading this...

Thanks!

Love Jonze, DJ & Producer The Confessional

Sundays Midnight - 2 AM.
