Lester Brown grew up on a farm in New Jersey. Now he writes about the planet's ability to feed all of its people.
Fifty years ago he wrote Man, Land and Food and went on to found the Worldwatch Insitute and the Earth Policy Institute.
Thursday he will be the guest on Fight The Empire's hour-long special on the geopolitics of food scarcity.
