Laurie Mercier speaks to Michael Helquist about the upcoming June 29 Birth Control Brigade in downtown Portland. Michael Helquist is the author of MARIE EQUI Radical Politics & Outlaw Passions. The event will commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the arrests of nurse Margaret Sanger and doctor Marie Equi for distributing information about birth control in Portland. Charley Downing of Reproductive Justice PDX and We are BRAVE joins in to talk about the relevance of the event to today's struggle for women’s access to contraception.
