Resisting the Race to the Bottom

In this era of global corporations, how can the labor movement resist the race to the bottom? "Free trade" deals, off-shoring, outsourcing, and the liberty of profits, but not people, to cross national borders undermine progress for the working class and threaten to undo gains it took decades to achieve. Join the conversation Labor Day morning, when our guests include Shannon, Executive Director of the Oregon Fair Trade Campaign, working to stop the Trans Pacific Partnership, "NAFTA on steroids," and Ron Baker, Strategic Campaign Coordinator of the BCTGM, the union battling Nabisco's layoffs in Chicago, where executives seek to rake in money by shifting production for the U.S. market to Mexico. What can we in Oregon do to fight back?
