PSU Divest

On October 24, 2016, the student government of Portland State University voted overwhelmingly in favor of a measure calling on the university to divest from the Israeli military occupation of Palestine.

The measure focuses on four companies: Hewlett-Packard, Caterpillar, G-4-S and Motorola Solutions. These companies have contracts with the Israeli military to provide weaponry and equipment to maintain the Israeli Wall on Palestinian land, and to continue the Israeli military occupation.

Nearly two hundred institutions, including churches, unions and schools, have divested from these and other companies in an effort to pressure Israel to comply with international law and withdraw from the Palestinian Territories.

Today we bring you the voices of students and community members who testified at the hearing
