Laurie Mercier hosts the Episode of the Old Mole which includes:

Ecological Revolution: John Foster teaches at the University of Oregon, writes a lot including The Robbery of Nature and the Return of Nature. He edits the journal Monthly Review, making it into a go to source for thinking about climate change, the inability of capitalism to respond, that we need revolutionary change, and what can be done to make that revolution before it is too late. His latest essay in Monthly Review, On fire This Time, John Foster examines our current period, seeing in it the beginnings of an ecological revolution and he speculates on the likely future, how that revolution will develop.

Ava of the Gaia: Jan Haaken talks with attorney and author Grace Nosek about her Ava of the Gaia trilogy--a hopeful climate fantasy series featuring a young female heroine. Nosek is a founding member of the University of British Columbia Climate Lab and carries out research on how to confront climate doubt. They talk about the Ava of the Gala series and the place of fantasy fiction in confronting the hard realities of climate change.

Red-Nosed Reindeer: Joe Clement and Denise Morris review the Rankin Bass stop motion animated Christmas story Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Originally aired on NBC in 1964, the GE sponsored classic tells the story of 2 misfits and their eventual acceptance by Santa, his Elves and Sleigh pulling Reindeer. But a deeper look reveals that social integration has a high price to pay.
