COVID-19 Stay Home Order in Oregon

As the CoronaVirus pandemic transforms our increasingly surreal reality, there is much confusion, misinformation and abject fear that gets in the way of seriously tackling this crisis. Of course the Confuser-in-Chief is a primary culprit in spreading dangerous misconceptions and lies, and makes it that much more difficult for all of us to get a handle on what is really happening and what needs to be done immediately. So it's time to turn off the orange clown and talk with an epidemiologist.

On this episode of Locus Focus we are fortunate to have with us Dr. Devra Davis, President of the Environmental Health Trust, to guide us through scientific explanations of the epidemiology of COVID-19 and safe practices to flatten the pandemic's curve and find our way to the other side of this nightmare.

Devra Davis was Founding Director of the Center for Environmental Oncology and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and founding director of the Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology of the U.S. National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences. Davis was Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Health in the Department of Health and Human Services and appointed to the US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board by President Clinton. She was part of the team of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change scientists awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 with the Honorable Al Gore as she was lead author on research assessing climate mitigation policies. She is currently Visiting Professor of Medicine at The Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem, Israel, and Ondokuz Mayis University Medical School, Samsun, Turkey. She has also authored more than 200 peer reviewed publications in books and journals.
