Hughes wanted to participate
Tom Hughes wanted to participate in this forum but he had to be present at Intel's announcement, which made national news, about their plans to invest billions more in their Oregon manufacturing facilities and create thousands of jobs in the process. Hughes worked so hard as mayor of Hillsboro to encourage Intel to create more jobs, and their announcement Tuesday was of deep personal significance to him.
