It is a tradition of Self Help Radio to occasionally explore a word as a theme.  Some words have many, many meanings.  The word "flat" is one of them.  By the count of one dictionary, the word has fifty-three (53!) different definitions, as an adjective, noun, & adverb.  By the estimation of the host of this show, we explore at least six different meanings.  Probably more.  It was a long show, & late at night.  & there were idioms too!  Those darn idioms!
In addition to too many songs, we talked to a fellow who founded a Flat Folk Society, to our favorite Librarian Carole who discussed books about flat things, & at some point we were interrupted by the host's anatomy professor, who completely coincidentally wanted to teach him about flat bones.  Plus!  A discussion of the book Flatland (featuring a snippet of the book), & those darn idioms!  Always with the idioms!
Also, the Definition-O-Tron 3000 showed up.  Some people think he's keen.  He's a machine!  A keen machine!
Anyway, we hope the show doesn't leave you feeling flat.  Unless that was what we meant to do?  It's hard to know.  It was just so two-dimensional.
