Microplastics are, like their name suggests, small, and they can be easy to miss. But they have a big impact on waterways and fisheries.

The Ocean Blue Project is a non-profit that works on microplastic clean up projects and recovering them from sandy beaches. It's grown, to include Oregon State University students and an engineering firm that's helping to optimize equipment that filter microplastic out of Oregon beaches.

KBOO's Ethan Sandweiss spoke with Ocean Blue co-founder Richard Arterbery to learn more about the project.
