On Friday December 16th, the governor-appointed Fish and Wildlife Commission, which oversees the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, met and directed the agency to develop new rules banning organized competitions in which coyotes are hunted for cash or prizes.
State wildlife officials are finally moving to outlaw the very shameful and disgraceful wildlife hunting contests in Oregon.
Today we meet with Jill Fritz, Senior Director at the Wildlife Protection Department of the Humane Society of the United States, and she will discuss her recent trip to Oregon and her role as an activist, professional and representative of one of the most recognizable, historically relevant institutions with a mission to protect our fellow beings from cruel and unjust human interference.
